How To Buy The Correct Bridal Tiara

The classic wedding tiara and headpiece is a direct descendant of the crowns of days gone by. All brides have the ability to capture that princess feeling by choosing the right tiara or headpiece. There are numerous things to keep in mind when making your decision. So before you fork over the money for that wedding headpiece make sure you keep these tips in mind.

Bridal Headband: A brides headband is often decorated with delicate etchings. This lovely bridal accessory should be placed vertically on the brides head just behind the ears. The headband is an excellent choice for the bride looking for a more subtle headpiece with a definite feel of elegant style. Headbands come in simple straight forward designs to those encrusted with gems and pearls. The headband can work with any hairstyle.

Double Headband: A more accented version of the standard wedding headband will appeal to traditional and modern brides. With its double stacked metal bands with optional bling can be worn just as a standard headband or worn at a more forward angle just as you would wear a tiara.

V-Band: The beautiful V-band headpiece is a wonderful statement piece worn on the brides brow at a horizontal position. With its graceful position, it often gives the bride a feeling of vintage elegance and sophistication. The V-band comes in single and double bands and is often adorned with stones. The V-band is definitely experiencing a resurgence in popularity.

The Bun Ring: This one is not really a tiara but it is definitely worth noting. The bun ring is a beautiful option for the bride opting for an up do. With its flat, wide construction it is often found to be covered in intricate detail and can be covered in jewels. Just slide it over your hair bun to complete your look. You can find the above beautiful bun ring at Dream Bridal Boutique.

Classic Bridal Tiara: From real life princesses to wedding day princesses the tiara is an amazing bridal look! Whether you opt for simple and delicate piece or an ornate crown you are sure to find a bridal tiara that fits your style. This piece is worn horizontally across the brow and is a great choice for any bride.

Choosing Your Headpiece: When choosing your bridal headpiece you should consider a few factors first. Depending on the shape of your face, some headpieces will be a better fit than others. So if you have a round face you should definitely go with a tiara with a high point. Women with a longer face should instead aim for sporting a more light and dainty headpiece. If you are a bride with an oval face the bun ring, single or double headband, or the V-band is the way to go. You should also make your headpiece decision with your hair color in mind. Our blonde brides will find white gold and sterling silver headpieces are the way to go while red and brown haired brides should consider gold, ivory, or other metal shaded pieces. Brides sporting a trendy short hairstyle should stay away from larger sized tiaras. And Don't forget to think about if you are going to choose to wear a veil. We will discuss veils another day:)

Alright Ladies, are you ready to go vintage? Right now vintage weddings are all that matters. Wedding accessories for sale and wedding dress makers have taken notice and we will help you find what you need to make your big day feel like 1925! You need to find the right dress, bridal accessories and put it all together with the right color combination to get that throw back feel.

The first thing I like to look at is putting together the right wedding accessories. From here you build out till your theme is complete. You are going to need lots of pearls, big statement gems, and feathers. Get those long strands of pearls and get a lot of them. You don’t have to twirl them, but you are definitely going to rock them! Grab a feathered or jeweled bridal comb and top it off with an amazing birdcage veil. The birdcage veil is very popular right now and that isn't going to change anytime soon. You can go with any size veil but I am fond of the smaller sized ones that don’t take too much away from the rest of your look.

Next your going to move on to picking out the perfect vintage styled wedding dress. Here you cant go wrong with a feminine lacy frock. Get your dress fit just right and go with a mermaid style, A-line, or silhouette. This will set the tone for the 20’s style your going for. At this point you may be thinking about getting that classic white dress, but in this case classic isn't what we’re going for. We want vintage, and you’re going to need to go with a blush or an ivory color. I suggest grabbing a long strapped purse and some bright red lipstick. Trust me on this one, you won’t be disappointed.  Grab yourself a bouquet of pastel flowers and you are ready to strut down the aisle.

That brings me to picking the right colors for your vintage themed wedding. Go for lots of muted colors. In this case subdued colors will definitely amp up the party. Beige is perfect coupled with dulled purple and subtle peach. Hire a great jazz band and get ready to get in the roaring twenties mood! Let us know what your dress and wedding accessories looked like on your big vintage day!
